THUNDER BAY -- An organizer of many recent Idle No More rallies and events is stepping down.
Joyce Hunter has accepted a new job, and as a result will no longer be participating as an organizer or spokesperson for local Idle No More events.
“I have enjoyed working on bringing Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people together through Idle No More and creating awareness about environmental and legislative issues that will impact all Canadians,” Hunter writes in a news release recently issues to local media.
“My new role will allow me to continue working with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in building better relationships that hopefully will result in a more inclusive, safer and healthier community.”
