Stolen ATV leads to impaired driving, theft charges

OPP have charged a 29-year-old man with impaired driving and theft charges following an incident late in May.

ATIKOKAN, Ont. – A report of a stolen ATV has led to impaired driving charges for a 29-year-old man.

Ontario Provincial Police received a complaint on May 28 just before 5 a.m. of a stolen ATV in Atikokan.

Police located the described vehicle parked at a residence and began their investigation.

According to police, while speaking with the male driver officers determined that he had alcohol in his body.

He was tested and transported to the detachment for further tests.

As a result, a 29-year-old has been charged with operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and theft of a motor vehicle.

He is schedule to appear in court on July 15 to answer to his charges.
