THUNDER BAY -- A stolen vehicle led a man to drunk driving charges Tuesday morning.
Police say the man was at a gathering on Moodie street when he took keys to a vehicle and drove off. A 911 call came into police just after 1 a.m. and within minutes patrolling officers spotted the car on Arthur Street. They followed him to Archibald Street and Victoria Avenue where he was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and obstruct police after they say he lied about his identity.
He was also charged with fail to provide breath sample while at the police station.
The 33-year-old man appeared in court Tuesday on those charges and others from outstanding warrants. He remains in custody.
The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.
