A city youth kept Thunder Bay Police busy on Tuesday night.
A spate of separate incidents led to one arrest, a teenager charged with theft of a motor vehicle and several other alleged offences.
It all began at about 3:30 a.m. when police responded to a report of tires screeching and a loud crash heard in the Selkirk Street area.
Upon arrival police discovered the EMS building had been struck and the offending vehicle was dragging a 55-gallon drum down the road.
At the same time police received a call from a gas-station employee on Memorial Avenue reporting the theft of gas by a man driving a truck.
Half-an-hour later a 911 call came in describing a male wearing a disguise entering a Mac’s Convenience store on Balsam Street. Police allege the suspect committed armed robbery with a knife and fled the scene.
At 4:50 a.m. there was a report received about a collision in the Big Pine Trailer Sales on Cumberland Street.
The truck involved struck a concrete barrier and a large propane tank. The driver then reversed out of the lot and across the street, where it struck two more vehicles in another business parking lot.
A passerby stopped to help the suspect out of the vehicle, just as police arrived.
The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following:
• Theft of Motor Vehicle
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
• Operation with over 80 Mg of Alcohol
• Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Robbery
• Disguise with Intent
• Mischief over $5,000 x 3
He appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded until his next appearance, scheduled for Thursday.
