THUNDER BAY—A man from Quebec was scheduled to appear in court Monday on drug and weapons charges following his arrest Sunday by Thunder Bay Police.

Police said a patrol officer was conducting speed enforcement on Dawson Road near Hunter Road just before 5:00 AM when he observed a vehicle travelling "at a very high rate of speed."

After stopping the driver, the officer observed marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle.

He arrested the 28-year-old for possession of a controlled substance, then found a loaded handgun and ammunition, as well as additional marijuana, in the vehicle.
