The owner of Urban Boutique says he wonders who hates his store so much to break the front window and ruin his merchandise with paintball pellets.

Angelo Petta came into work around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday to find his front window smashed in and yellow paint splattered on various clothes. The store on Memorial Avenue has had a few shoplifters in the past but Petta said he’s never had this kind of vandalism in the two years since the store opened.

With a lot of high-end merchandise ruined, he estimated loss was some where between $15,000 to $20,000, he said.

"I don’t think it’s the area – I think it’s someone probably not very happy with the Urban Boutique," Petta said. "This is definitely a targeted incident."

Petta wasn’t sure who would have a grudge against him but he planned to step up his security system by adding a few cameras.

He added that his business will remain open.
