Big men are giving some big help to a local children's charity.

On Friday organizers of Ontario's Strongest Man, which was held earlier this year in Thunder Bay, gave $4,000 to the local chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The money donated was raised from the competition.

Organizer Luke Skaruup said as a father of four, he really wanted to see the competitors give back to a charity that helps nearly 300 kids in Thunder Bay.

"Its a charity that means a lot to all of us," he said.

Big Brothers Big Sisters executive director Casey Farrell said the money means more possibilities for programming from movie nights to a Christmas party.

"This allows us to be able to provide those supplies," she said. "It feels wonderful."
