Shoppers at the Safeway store on Arthur Street got a little something extra Tuesday when they picked up their groceries.

Grade 12 students from Churchill High School serenaded shoppers at the checkout as part of their annual Singing for Supper campaign. The event allows students to make use of their musical talents while raising financial and food donations for the Christmas Cheer Fund and Shelter House.

Peer Leadership teacher Ryan Mcdonnell said it's a great way to get students involved in the community. He added that the shoppers love listening to the music.

The students will also be singing this Thursday from noon until 5 p.m. at Safeway's Arthur Street location.
