Feasibility studies continue on the proposed Kinghorn Rail-to-trail project.
The plan would see 111-kilometres of unused CN Rail line between Thunder Bay and Nipigon converted into a new multi-use recreational trail.
Trans Canada Trail Ontario hosted an open house Wednesday evening to discuss the proposed Kinghorn Project. There are now 22,000 kilometres of Trans Canada Trail throughout the country.
But Ontario trail co-ordinator Kirsten Spence said there are still some gaps in Northwestern Ontario that need to be addressed.
Area residents raised some concerns, including potential noise and property damage to homes near the proposed route.
The Kinghorn project was also the topic of discussion at an open house in Nipigon Tuesday night.
Spence said the feedback from that meeting was mainly positive.
