THUNDER BAY — Provincial police have nabbed a driver doing much more than the posted speed limit.

Officers patrolled Highway 11/17 on Tuesday afternoon and performed a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle.

A 34-year-old Ottawa woman was clocked going 149 kilometres per hour, nearly 60 over the posted speed limit.

While police were conducting the traffic stop, they discovered that the woman was using a fraudulent ID, had a suspended licence, and officers also located a personal amount of cocaine in the vehicle.

Police also found a stun baton in the woman's possession.

The Ottawa resident was served with a 30-day roadside licence suspension, 14-day vehicle impoundment and a future date with the court to face the five charges.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Thunder Bay court in September.
