Sudden death investigation in Sioux Lookout

Provincial police are investigating a sudden death in Sioux Lookout.

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the sudden death of a man Wednesday night in Sioux Lookout.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, officers responded to a report of an injured male Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on Seventh Avenue and Roy Lane in Sioux Lookout.

Police say when the arrived emergency medical services were attending to the injured 40-year-old man identified as George Tait from Sachigo Lake First Nation.

He was transported to medical services and pronounced dead.

Members of the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, the North West Region Emergency Response Team and Forensic Identification Services are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora on Sept. 7.
