The Thunder Bay centre aimed at linking employers and youth this summer is now open for business.

The Service Canada Centre for Youth officially opened its doors for the summer Thursday. It is open from May to August and is organized to help students with their resumes and cover letters.

It also assists students looking for work by providing a job bank for both employers and students. Youth Services Officers say they also have a separate job posting for different jobs students can do on their summer break.

The centre’s message is that a summer job is a stepping stone to a career. Centre staff say they encourage employers and youth to contact their office for summer employment opportunities.

The office is located on Alloy Drive and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
