THUNDER BAY - A number of local gas stations are out of fuel as a result of a temporary supply interruption.

All pumps at the two Shell locations at the corner of River Street and Red River Road are closed, as well as all pumps at the Cumberland Street location.

Some of the company's stations, as well as other gas bars across the city, are offering only premium fuel at the regular price.

Shell spokesman Cameron Yost said the company is working to address the shortages.

"About half of our stations in Thunder Bay have run out of fuel due to a temporary supply interruption and higher than normal demand during the summer driving season," he said in a statement.

"We know this is an inconvenience for our customers and we appreciate their patience as we work hard to address these shortages."
