THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay police say a man wanted in conjunction with Tuesday's brazen daytime gas-bar robbery on Arthur Street has been arrested without incident.
The man, who police did not name, was taken into custody shortly before midnight on Wednesday, captured on Highway 130. He is expected to appear via video remand on Thursday in court in Thunder Bay.
On Wednesday police released still photographs from video surveillance footage they hope may help them find a suspect in a recent gas station robbery.
Police say on Oct. 2 a man described as Caucasian, standing about five-feet-seven-inches tall and weighing140 pounds walked into the Shell gas station on Arthur Street with a black handgun in his belt.
He demanded money from the clerk, who was instructed to place the cash in a black Super Store bag. Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot with the undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect appeared to be between 50 and 60 years old. His hair was described as shaggy blonde and he was unshaven.The man was wearing a brown Carhardt jacket with hoodie, brown pants and a red hat.
The hat had a Budweiser symbol on it.
The jacket was open in front., and he wore a black T-shirt could be seen. The T-shirt read, 'I will not come home drunk.' That statement on the shirt repeated itself over and over again.
