THUNDER BAY— A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in the death of Braiden Jacob.

Thunder Bay police on Friday night announced the arrest of the accused, who has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police have not released the identity of the suspect.

The suspect was arrested with the assistance of Nishnawbe Aski Police Service officers on Friday and has been transferred to Thunder Bay. Police did not say where the arrest was made.

The 17-year-old’s body was found on Chapples Park on Sunday, three days after he was reported missing on Dec. 6.

Deputy police chief Don Lewis previously said the body was discovered with signs of trauma but he did not disclose the cause of death.
