Police have arrested and charged a man in Poplar Hill First Nation with second-degree murder.
On Friday, July 22 Nisnawbe Aski Police Service received a call about a man passed out on Smooth Rock Road in that community. Upon arriving, officers noticed the man was suffering from serious injuries.
He was transported to the community’s nursing station and was later pronounced dead.
Police are now waiting for the autopsy results of Aaron Strang, 20, of Poplar Hill.
On Tuesday, July 26 police arrested Curtis Moose, 19, of Poplar Hill. He is now charged with second-degree murder.
The suspect is being held in custody and was scheduled to appear in a Sioux Lookout courtroom on Wednesday.
