City police have arrested a 20-year-old man following a north-side convenience store robbery.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the suspect entered the store wearing a ski mask and showing a knife around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect fled without getting any money.

Police were able to find the suspected would-be robber a short time later, as well as the weapon believed to have been used in the botched robbery.

Police say they are also charging the suspect in connection with a similar robbery that took place on Sept. 20.

The man was scheduled to make a court appearance Thursday morning.

No injuries were reported in either of the two robberies.
