Suspected convenience store robbers have court date later this month

Thunder Bay Police Service officers arrested two men, an 18-and 22-year-old, in connection to an attempted robbery of a convenience store. Both men had their first court appearance on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old appeared in court on Wednesday and the 22-year-old suspect is expected to appear on June 27.

Police say the attempted robbery took place sometime around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

One man allegedly entered the store with a knife, while a second man waited outside to act as a lookout for police.

The clerk complied with the demands and both fled the scene.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

Police found both suspects near the scene shortly after the robbery.
