OPP news release follows
(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Shortly after 2:45 am on April 18, 2015 members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a suspicious motor vehicle at a business located on Mercury Avenue in the Town of Atikokan.
Police conducted a check on the motor vehicle and after speaking to the driver, determined the driver demonstrated symptoms of impairment to police. The driver, Darrell Innes (31) of Moosonee Ontario was arrested and transported to the Atikokan Detachments for tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days.
The driver was subsequently charged with two offences contrary to the Criminal Code.
- One count of having over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood;
- One count of Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired.
Innes will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on Thursday May 28, 2015 at 11:00 am to answer to these charges.
