Police arrested a man in connection with a controversial tree cutting incident in the Boulevard Lake area.
The hundred-year-old white pine on Lyon Boulevard was cut down sometime overnight on June 4. The heavily scarred and battered tree was a well-known landmark, as it had been the scene of several collisions, given its placement on a steep curve in the road.
Police say anonymous tips from the public have led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Thunder Bay man.
His name has not yet been released.
The suspect is set to appear in court on July 27 to face a charge of Mischief over $5,000.
