THUNDER BAY -- The case against the Field Street murder suspects continues to crawl through the court system as five of the six suspects appeared in court Thursday.

Larissa Shingabis, Felton Sakanee, Kevin Wabason, Christopher Meeseetawagesic and Keith Mishenene all face second-degree murder charges in connection to the July 18 death of 44-year-old Lloyd Oskineegish, whose burned body was found in the Field Street area.

Oskineegish was the city’s fifth murder victim of 2014.

All five suspects appeared via video at the Thunder Bay Courthouse Thursday afternoon and were remanded to Feb. 12 where they will again appear by video in bail court.

James Chapais, the sixth suspect in the case, will next appear in court tomorrow.

Chapais was also charged with second-degree murder.

All of the suspects remain in custody.

None of the allegations against any of the accused have been proven in court.
