Suspect sought in fraud investigation (2 photos)

Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a fraud investigation earlier this month.

THUNDER BAY – City police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect linked to an ongoing fraud investigation.

Thunder Bay Police were originally dispatched to a Mac’s Convenience Store on Hodder Avenue on March 12 just after 9:30 p.m. for a reported fraud in progress.

Investigators learned a victim had returned to the convenience store to retrieve a bank card she had misplaced.

The victim was unable to retrieve the card and learned transactions had been made by whoever was in possession of it.

Police were able to track the transactions and through the course of their investigation obtained surveillance footage featuring a male and female suspect at the nearby Skaf’s Convenience Store.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male believed to be between the ages of 25 and 30 years old. He has a heavy build, brown hair and brown facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket, dark jeans and a black toque.

If you have any information that could help identify these suspects please call police at 684-1200, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.
