The topic of sustainability in northern communities in Ontario has brought experts and environmental leaders to Thunder Bay for a two day conference.
The Sustainable Communities in The North Conference, being held at Lakehead University and Confederation College, gives businesses, community organizations, students, aboriginal and non-aboriginal communities the chance to address the challenges facing Northern Ontario together.
The conference has close to 200 Northern Ontario students and community members and features workshops and lectures from sustainability experts across North America, including the CEO of the David Suzuki Foundation. Topics of discussion include food, water, energy, economic stability and community vibrancy concerns.
Friday will be the last day for the conference, starting at 7:30 a.m at Lakehead University. Registration is open to anyone interested.
