ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- The Lakehead Thunderwolves men's hockey team hasn't played in nearly two months and the rust showed on Thursday afternoon.

The host Brock Badgers tripled up the visiting T-Wolves 6-2, Jared Marino scoring a pair to lead the way offensively.

Lakehead scored first, Colin Van Den Hurk picking up his second of the season, the Badgers rolled off three straight to take control of the match before Joe Mack netted a shorthanded marker midway through the third to cut the gap to 3-2.

Brock (6-2-0) then scored three unanswered to put the contest away.

Jacob Roach, Cole Thiessen, former Fort Frances Laker Cole Tymkin and Tyler Rollo had the other Badgers goals.

Brock Aiken took the loss in net, giving up six goals on 34 shots, while the win went to Mario Faccia who had a 28-save performance.

Lakehead (3-6-0) heads to Toronto for a pair of weekend games and returns home next weekend to close out their home schedule against the Badgers, tied for first in the OUA West with Ryerson.
