The Thunder Bay Police Service announced Thursday that it has rescinded the suspension of Insp. Dan Taddeo.
Taddeo was removed from active duty in January of last year and charged with two counts of misconduct under the Police Act for failing to properly supervise a subordinate. The allegations stemmed from charges brought against Const. Toni Grann, who faced criminal charges of falsifying Ontario Sex Offender Registry records.
Grann was found not guilty of those charges in March.
A news release issued by the local force states that the Taddeo suspension was rescinded July 10 by police chief J.P.Levesque.
Since details of the resolution are considered private, no other information is being released.
The Taddeo case also resulted in Mayor Keith Hobbs being suspended from the Police Services Board for several months, after allegations Hobbs breached confidentiality provisions by communicating board discussions about Taddeo's suspension.
