TBDHU expands walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations to all groups

CLE vaccination clinic

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is now inviting anyone who still needs a COVID-19 vaccination to come to its clinic at the CLE Coliseum without an appointment.

Effective Feb. 3, TBDHU has announced the expansion of walk-in opportunities to the only two remaining groups who still required appointments.

These include all adults 18 years and over – for booster doses – and all children 5-11 years old for second doses.

Individuals may come to the clinic anytime during specified hours.

The CLE clinic generally operates six days a week, with morning, afternoon and evening times available.

In other communities in the District of Thunder Bay, weekly clinics have been scheduled.

Dates and locations can be found on the TBDHU website.

The health unit said walk-in opportunities are typically available at these locations as well. They will be announced through social media once they are confirmed.

TBDHU on Wednesday also announced that the supply of the adult (12+) Pfizer vaccine has increased.

As a result, the health unit is no longer restricting Pfizer to those under the age of 30.

Select pharmacies and some primary health care providers continue to provide COVID-19 vaccine as well.
