Thunder Bay Police Service officer awarded medal

THUNDER BAY -- An officer with the Thunder Bay Police has been awarded a Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal.

Sergeant John Reed was recognized Tuesday morning for completing a peacekeeping mission as a member of the RCMP between December 2012 and December 2013.

He served as a Police Advisor to the Afghan National Police, and also worked for a European Police Force advisory service.

Reed is the second member of city police to be awarded the peacekeeping medal.
