Teen crashes stolen car into police cruiser

A 14-year-old boy faces several charges following an incident early Monday morning in which a police cruiser was damaged. 

The incident began around 3 a.m. when officers attempted to check a suspicious vehicle at Hillcrest Park. But as the officers approached the vehicle, the driver sped off, striking the cruiser in the process. 

The vehicle was then abandoned on Marlborough Street, with all of the occupants running off. 

Officers were able to apprehend the 14-year-old driver after a short foot-pursuit, but were unable to find the other occupants.

The vehicle the teen was driving was stolen Sunday in Marathon.
