Tera North fined $115K in 2011 death of worker

THUNDER BAY -- The Ministry of Labour confirms a company has been fined following the death of a young worker in 2011. The 24-year-old man was working on a bucket lift platform at the McKenzie River Bridge.

THUNDER BAY -- The Ministry of Labour confirms a company has been fined following the death of a young worker in 2011.

The 24-year-old man was working on a bucket lift platform at the McKenzie River Bridge.

An MOL spokesperson says the company pleaded guilty in Thunder Bay court for failing to ensure the platform was used on a firm and level surface.

Tera North has been fined $115,000 along with a 25 per cent victim surcharge.
