Terrace Bay has launched an ambitious advertising campaign in hopes of drawing visitors from Thunder Bay, and just weeks after opening a new lighthouse tourist attraction in the town.
A pair of billboards went up earlier this month near WalMart and the Great Canadian Superstore, promoting Terrace Bay and its outdoor experiences.
This is the first time in recent memory that a small community in the Northwest has rented billboard space in Thunder Bay.
The town received government funding for the campaign, and Terrace Bay's special projects co-ordinator said they wanted to think outside the box to grow their tourism potential.
A re-branding strategy is also evident on the new highway signs all around Terrace Bay, with a strong focus on the town's new lighthouse attraction.
