The Township of Terrace Bay is under a boil water advisory after a power disruption to the community’s water treatment plant.

Residents will face intermittent outages to water service Monday as the plant is brought back on line, the municipality warned.

The township first issued an alert over a township-wide water outage at 6 a.m. Monday.

By 8:30 a.m., water had been temporarily restored, but residents were warned that periodic outages would continue.

All water used for human consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute prior to use, until the boil water advisory is lifted.

The municipality will carry out required water quality testing in consultation with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

Residents were advised to contact the Terrace Bay municipal office at 825-3315 or the Thunder Bay District Health Unit at (807) 625-5900 for more information.
