Thirteen Reliance workers on picket line

About 13 local workers are on the picket line after the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers union that represents them rejected a deal with Reliance Home Comfort.

About 13 local workers are on the picket line after the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers union that represents them rejected a deal with Reliance Home Comfort.

The 13 are among more than 300 Reliance maintenance workers from across Ontario who walked off the job Wednesday morning.

CEP membership turned down a tentative deal last week in a close vote, but no details have been released on why they rejected the proposal.

None of the Thunder Bay employees would comment on the matter Thursday, saying that only the union will be releasing more information later.

Reliance has said they are trying to get the employees back to work as soon as possible.

The company adds there will not be any interruption of service to customers.
