THUNDER BAY – City police responded to 234 criminal reports throughout the week of Monday, May 9 through Sunday, May 15.
While still a busy week for the Thunder Bay Police Service, it is a considerable drop to the 311 reports they were forced to deal with the week before.
Another armed standoff was one of the most significant cases police dealt with, but police also responded to 22 assaults, 21 break and enters and 13 cases that ended with weapons charges.

The more than 234 incidents reported last week is an estimate and does not include traffic cases.
South of the Harbour Expressway, city police responded to 135 reported crimes. Some of the more serious incidents included:
• 16 Assaults
• 13 Break and enter
• 12 Thefts
• 1 sexual assaults
• 6 Thefts from vehicles
• 1 Thefts of vehicles
• 6 Weapons charges
Meanwhile, north of the Harbour Expressway, officers responded to more than 102 criminal reports.
Some of the more serious incidents reported include:
• 6 Assaults
• 8 Break and enters
• 1 Robbery
• 15 Thefts
• 6 Theft from vehicles
• 3 Theft of vehicles
• 7 Weapons charges
The vast majority of cases city police responded to were listed as either liquor, disorder and property crime.
