Three arrested following afternoon north side assault

Suspects facing charges of assault causing bodily harm after 31-year-old man assaulted on a path just north of Court and McVicar streets.

THUNDER BAY -- Three people have been arrested after a 31-year-old man was assaulted on Sunday afternoon.

Thunder Bay police were called and located the victim on the ground after he was assaulted on a path just north of Court and McVicar streets. The victim told officers the assailants were two men and one woman.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for medical attention.

Officers found three suspects on Court Street and arrested them without incident.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, two counts of breach of probation and two counts of breach of undertaking. A 24-year-old man and 30-year-old woman have each been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

All three appeared in court on Monday morning. The 26-year-old remains in custody while the other two accused were released with a future court date.
