OPP News Release:
(BIG TROUT LAKE, ON) Members of the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the Northwest Region Crime Unit, have laid charges in relation to an assault which occurred in the community of Big Trout Lake over the weekend.
During the early morning of Friday April 24th, 2015, officers responded to a community residence after receiving a report of a 16 year old youth in need of medical assistance. The youth was later flown out of the community for further medical treatment for the injuries sustained.
A subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of three persons, all of Big Trout Lake. All three accused, age 19, 18, and 17 were charged with aggravated assault contrary to the criminal code. All 3 accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout bail court on April 27, 2015.
