THUNDER BAY – It might be wet and cool in the city, but that doesn’t mean the region is forest fire free right now.
Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources has responded to three forest fires in this region.
Two of the reported fires are near Fort Frances with another confirmed in the Kenora area.
Officials with the MNR say off fires have been human caused.
MNR Information officer Deb MacLean says even with warmer temperatures on the way, the forest fire hazard for this region remains at low.
