Police charged three students following a drug enforcement blitz that targeted six Thunder Bay high schools this week.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the community response team, focused enforcement team and school resources officers conducted the sweep of area high schools earlier this week. The goal of the sweep was to target drug activity.
Sir Winston Churchill, Westgate, St. Patrick, St. Igantius, Hammarskjold and Superior high schools were targeted during the police sweep.
As a result of the blitz, police charged three students and handed another dozen students over to school administration for follow-up.
A 16 year old boy and 17-year-old girl were charged with possession of marijuana, while a 15-year-old girl has been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
