The remaining three suspects in a Thunder Bay murder case appeared in court Wednesday.

There were originally four young men arrested back in March following the death of 54-year-old Robert Topping, but one of the accused died earlier this month.

Cody Thompson, 18, was rushed from the district jail to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Aug. 11, and died eight days later.

Thompson and three other suspects, Sheldon Wabason, Nicholas Webber, and Christopher Hawk were all charged with second-degree murder following Topping's death on Minnesota Street on March 19.

The charges against Thompson were formally withdrawn Wednesday by the Crown.

The other three men will be back in court on Sept. 9, where a preliminary hearing date is expected to be set.
