Three women charged after Whitesand First Nation home invasion

WHITESAND FIRST NATION, Ont. -- Three women from Whitesand First Nation are facing charges after a break-in attempt led to a resident being assaulted.

Provincial police said officers from their Armstrong detachment were notified of the incident on the morning of Sept. 13 after the suspects tried to steal items from a residence in Whitesand First Nation and assaulted the homeowner when they were confronted. The suspects also allegedly damaged property within the residence.

The homeowner sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

A 25-year-old woman, 23-year-old woman and 18-year-old woman are all facing charges of robbery with violence, mischief under $5,000 and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The three are scheduled to appear in an Armstrong court in late November.
