Ontario Police Memorial - Constable Joe Prevett

On Sunday May 3, 2015 officials, police officers and members of the public will honour the memory of those who have fallen. The Ontario Police Memorial in Toronto includes a wall which holds the names of police officers who have died while in service to their communities.

This year members representing the Thunder Bay Police Service will be marching in the event in remembrance of their fallen brother Constable Joe Prevett. Constable Prevett died on May 7, 2014 while on a joint training exercise in Gravenhurst Ontario.

Background on the Memorial:

The Ontario Police Memorial was officially unveiled and dedicated on May 7, 2000, by her Honour Hilary Weston, Lieutenant Governor, and the Honourable Michael Harris, Premier of Ontario.

The Memorial was created to honour those police officers in the Province of Ontario who lost their lives in the line of duty. The names of all known fallen officers are inscribed upon the Wall of Honour at OPMF.
