THUNDER BAY — The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay district has fallen to 28.
This is a drop of six from Monday when the Thunder Bay District Health Unit's COVID-19 dashboard was last updated.
TBDHU said there are seven COVID patients in intensive care, down two from Monday.
The health unit on Wednesday reported 77 new confirmed cases, bringing the active case count in the district to 163.
During the week of Mar. 6 to Mar. 12, the COVID-19 positivity test rate was 19.7 per cent, a slight decline from the positivity test rate of 20.1 per cent during the week of Feb. 27 to Mar. 5.
In the Northwestern Health Unit's service area, the positivitytest rate has fallen to 17.6 per cent.
For Ontario as a whole, the last reported positivity test rate was 12.2 per cent.
NWHU on Wednesday reported 196 active high-risk cases, including 153 in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub.
