THUNDER BAY — In keeping with the gradual phaseout of public health measures across Ontario, the City of Thunder Bay will lift some COVID-19 restrictions in city facilities as of Tuesday morning.

This includes the lifting of capacity limits in all remaining indoor public settings and proof-of-vaccination requirements.

Masking requirements remain in place until further notice.

As of March 1, 2022, measures will be rescinded as follows:

  • capacity limits are no longer in place
  • proof of vaccination is no longer required
  • active screening is no longer required

A statement from the city noted that additional public health measures remain in place at child care centres, school-based programs and day camps.

As of Tuesday, walk-in counter service for Court Services and the Thunder Bay Parking Authority will resume, and the first-floor doors of Victoriaville Civic Centre will be unlocked.

However, service counters for Community Services and supply Management, as well as second-floor services in Engineering and Development Services, are still accessible only by appointment.

The city said event bookings at the Centennial Botanical Conservatory  will resume with COVID-19 precautions in place. Bookings may be made by phoning 625-2941.

A detailed list of city services, electronic services, information, and phone numbers for appointment bookings are available online at www.thunderbay.ca/AtoZ.
