Thunder Bay man debuts on new TV show "The Traitors"

Transit operator Collin Johnson is competing on the CTV show for a big cash prize

THUNDER BAY — A city resident has won a spot on the new reality TV show The Traitors Canada, a series that CTV labels "the ultimate murder mystery game."

Transit operator Collin Johnson debuted Monday night along with 19 other contestants from across the country in the first episode of the season.

While staying in a historic manor in the Montreal area, the players compete in a series of missions with the goal of building and winning the cash prize fund.

But while they undertake their assigned tasks, 17 of them — called the Faithful — face the prospect of being "murdered" one by one, by three Traitors whose identities are known only to each other.

If the Faithful are able to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game, they will share the prize, while if a Traitor makes it to the end, they get to walk away with all the money.

Under the rules of the show, 37-year-old Johnson is not able to do media interviews unless he is eliminated from the program.

The Traitors Canada is broadcast each Monday on CKPR-TV Thunder Bay at 10 p.m.
