THUNDER BAY -- Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a Thunder Bay man on numerous charges following an early-morning incident on Highway 11 in Greenstone.

OPP say a patrolling officer stopped a vehicle after his radar unit clocked it at more than 50 kilometres an hour over the speed limit on the stretch between Geraldton and Longlac.

Under questioning from the officer, the driver gave a false name and date of birth.

When he was eventually identified, the officer determined the man's driver's license is currently under two suspensions.

The 39-year-old was taken to the local OPP detachment for a breathalyzer test.

He was charged with obstructing a peace officer, impaired driving, two counts of driving under suspension, and stunt driving.

Following a bail hearing, the man was remanded to custody in Thunder Bay pending a court appearance on Monday, September 25.
