THUNDER BAY -- Robert Duncan is going to have a pretty happy holiday season and a pineapple filled new year.
The Thunder Bay man on Friday learned he was the winner of the November Thunder Bay 50/50 jackpot, taking home a cool $1,464,202.
"Wow, this is going to make Christmas a lot better, or life," Duncan exclaimed after getting the call from Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation president and CEO Glenn Craig.
"My wife is going to be ecstatic once she hears about this. We have two kids, four grand kids and we're going to Hawaii in February for three weeks. I was worried about how pricey Hawaii is, but now that's all taken care of."
Duncan's win marks the 15th straight time the 50/50 draw has made someone a millionaire, and Decembers will be the 16th in a row, with a guaranteed $2.5-million grand prize.
There are also $250,000 in early bird prizes.
Last year's December draw prize was $3.9 million.
Tickets are available online at www.thunderbay5050.ca or at the Foundation's store at Intercity Shopping Centre.
