Thunder Bay Museum 2022 car raffle

This year, the raffle will be completely online, but there will be some in-person events to allow people to see the car

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Museum’s 2022 classic car raffle is officially underway with this year’s raffle featuring a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Esprit, Redbird Edition which will be drawn on Sep. 2.

The 2022 raffle was launched at Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. to allow those car enthusiasts who could make it out a chance to come and see the car before they buy tickets.

“Sleeping Giant’s a great place to have an event because there’s just lots of foot traffic here. People want to be here. They’re buying beer, they’re getting close.” Said Scott Bradley, executive director, Thunder Bay Museum.

“So it’s a great place to have an event and meet people who might be interested in a 1979 Firebird.”

The Classic Car Raffle is the museum's largest fundraising event, and the proceeds will be going towards operations, building renovations, and maintenance costs for the heritage building.

This year, the raffle will be completely online, however, Bradley says they will still be doing in-person events to allow people to see the car.

"We're just really excited to be doing the raffle again, these are really fun events, and it's another thing to help us meet a lot of patrons,” he said, “New people that might be interested in supporting the Thunder Bay historical museum society. So it's just really fun to do."

9,000 tickets are available for purchase on the museum website with the option to buy one ticket for $15, three for $40, eight for $100, or 28 for $300.
