Thunder Bay OPP charge two with impaired driving over weekend

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay OPP are reporting arrests and charges for two drivers over the weekend. Just before 1 a.m. last Sunday reports came in of an erratic driver on Highway 61.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay OPP are reporting arrests and charges for two drivers over the weekend.

Just before 1 a.m. last Sunday reports came in of an erratic driver on Highway 61. The OPP stopped the driver and while speaking with her, detected alcohol and found that she showed obvious signs of impairment. The 40-year-old woman was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol. She appears in court July 24.

Also that Sunday around 5:30 p.m. OPP were called west of Hazelwood Drive after an erratic driver hit a ditch on Highway 102. Police say the driver smelled of alcohol and showed obvious signs of impairment. The 44-year-old man was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operate a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol. He will appear Aug. 4.
