Thunder Bay pool temporarily closed due to vandalism

The pool is expected to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

THUNDER BAY – The city had to close Volunteer Pool Community Centre on Thursday due to vandalism.

On Wednesday night, the glass of a large patio door was broken, spreading shattered glass in and around the pool and making it unsafe for use.

“We are disheartened that our facility that serves so many in our community has been vandalized,” said Calli Graham, program supervisor - Volunteer Pool/Seasonal Facilities.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this closure causes to our valued members and look forward to safely reopening the pool next week.”

The pool is expected to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
