Thunder Bay resident celebrates $100K Encore win

TORONTO – A Thunder Bay resident is $100,000 richer after a recent lottery win.

Wanda Kardal, a retired mother of three and grandmother of one, matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the June 18 Lotto Max draw to win.

Wanda is an occasional lottery player.

“This ticket was in a pile that we were checking at the time. I couldn’t believe it when my husband shouted, we won,” Wanda said.

“We told our boys – they were thrilled.”

The mother of three would like to go to Iceland for a vacation.

“I’ll also save some for my grandchild, purchased a new television and put the rest away.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Arthur Street in Thunder Bay.
