TORONTO – A Thunder Bay resident is celebrating after winning $50,000 top prize with Instant Quest for Gold Crossword.

Martin Blanchette, a 67-year-old, semi-retired father, has been playing the lottery for about 35 years.

“I love Instant Quest for Gold Crossword, because it supports Olympic athletes,” he said. “Instant Crosswords are my time to relax.”

Martin said he initially thought he had missed a letter, so he put his ticket aside.

“When I scanned it at the store and saw “Big Winner - $50,000,” I was so happy!”

He plans to share this win with his daughters.

“I’ll also pay some bills and enjoy being debt-free.”

The winning ticket was purchased at K&A Variety on City Road in Thunder Bay.
